QUARTER FINALS for MONDAY is here, the PLAYOFFS are in full effect as the first round of the post season tips off and gives us some hectic drama and next level action! An 6 point down with 30 seconds comeback & OT game..its LIT!
Div 2 Semi Finals was to be split into 2 round, this week it was the 1st vs 4th and the next week the 2nd vs 3rd. Div 2 Teams are pretty stacked so its anyones chance to get the lucky win from the higher ranked teams.
1st ranked The Bandicoots shot the lights out against a helpless 4th ranked Unanderra 26ers in a game that started close but ended one sided. Angus M channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 18 big ones to conclude the mission . Matt P 10 & Sam C helped out with the load getting 9 points on the sheet which simply outscored the other teams leaders being, Tim R slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 11 points recorded by the bench , Jeremy C 8 & Alain I let it fly and hit more than missed with 7 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Bandicoots have had a dominant season, and they are always on their best game especially going up against the Unanderra 26ers who came down from Div1 in the mid season and has been plagued with personnel losses but managed to step and put in a big effort on both ends. Unanderra 26ers unfortunately weren’t able to stop the runs from Bandicoots who were firing from deep and the mid range getting the scoreline to grow as the game went on. By the end the Bandicoots took this one out and Unanderra 26ers go home a little earlier as they look to rebuild and get past the first round of the playoffs next season! Bandicoots ready for the next challenge as they proceed to the Semis!
Div 3 has some huge games, Overtime thriller, some clutch play and some beat downs that came in the 2nd as the team warmed up in the cold weather with some hot shooting and big time buckets!
6th ranked Miami Yeet with a huge comeback win being down most of the game against 3rd ranked Orange Peelers as they matched up in overtime to make sure a winner is crowned for this match Zac S couldnt be stopped this game, and couldnt be contained, the D had no answer as he scored a whopping 37 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Kade W 7 & Aidan E finished the game with a commendable 6 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Omar N beasted hard this game finishing on a great 24 points but a loss unfortunately , Mojo getting stats from everywhere including 16 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Orange Peelers have been playing well this season and they had beaten Miami Yeet in round 17 by a few buckets, but this time it was playoffs, whre anything can happen, so never let your guard down and watch out for the sneaky runs that erase the lead! Which is what happened this game. Orange Peelers up by 7 at the haldf, they looked to finish the game out easily. Even though Miami Yeet came back steadily to pull within 6 with 30 seconds left. Orange Peelers were throwing long court passes to try and stretch the D and waste time. But on one pass the ball wasn’t secured by Kade and Zac was able to get the ball into his hands to bomb a big 3 to bring it within 3…then another long pass, and an Adian steal, and BOOM Zac hit another to force Overtime! Orange Peelers devastated and went down in overtime as Miami Yeet carried all the momentum after that huge Tracy McGrady run! Miami Yeet gifted the win by the basketball gods this time as Peelers end their season here. Miami Yeet go onto the Semi Finals!
1st ranked Dunkings went back and forth but held the lead most of the game against 8th ranked Average Joes in a game that had the winners go on scoring runs that werent answered in time. Sam B slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 11 points to get over the line. . Pranav 9 & Jono C pitched in to add to the score with, 8 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, Dan B getting some fadeaways to fall to contribute to the result with 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Scott T points from slashing and finding the gaps in the zone D. 7 points but a loss unfortunately . Dunkings jumping out early to get the show started and the Average Joes were playing catchup real quick. Average Joes were making their attack from the mid range and tried to get inside when they could. The shots were rimming out and they ended up in a 10 point hole at the end of the first half. Dunkings getting their guards to get active as Sam Jono and Pranav were instrumental in this win with 3s and inside shots that was too much for Average Joes this time. Average Joes go home early after having some dominant games this season. Dunkings progress to the next round…the Semi Finals!
4th ranked Pandemic Ps took the game second half from the 5th ranked Air Ballers who werent ready for them this game. Mitch B pushed the break and went home with a tidy 12 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Ryan S also helped out in the win with 10 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Daniel H heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 15 points but a loss unfortunately , Harrison P 6 & Joel RJ played well as far as getting 5 points as he pitched in to add to the score. . Pandemic Ps getting pushed to their limits this gamea s they were under attack from some hungry hungry Air Ballers who kept in this grind of a game by playing some extra active defense and pushing the pace on breaks. Pandemic Ps had their own fast break game going as Mitch didn’t let the D settle into a zone by attacking the middle and finishing with some sort touch on the layup. Ryan was a menace inside and out for Pandemic Ps which helped keep the score close until the final plays went down.
