The Grand Finals night is here, the long awaited matchups of the 2 teams that made it through the playoffs, check out what happened and who was crowned champs for this season!
Div 1

1st quarter was low scoring for 2 great scoring teams, both teams locking down on D and putting up some contested shots which werent successful due to the activity on both ends. The Bandwagoners had Izaak W lead the way with 4 whilst the big dog on Double Ds came out firing with Jed P getting 13 or his teams 14 in the quarter leaving the score 14 to the 10 that Bandwagoners put up.
2nd quarter had Lachy CR step up for Bandwagoners putting up some nice dimes and a good score so far with 12 to lead his team. Jake E had 6 so far as Izaak continued to work the middle with 6. Jed P the man to stop of Double Ds but Peter T was getting going inside with 7 and 9 rebounds dmoinating the glass for his team. But that was it, the Bandwagoners win this quater by 15 points, 26-11 and it was the turning point of the game which saw the Double Ds look to the 2nd half to fight back.
3rd quarter was a grind of a quarter, both teams with energy still to push the break and the boards were piling in for the centers as the guards kept up the pace with the fast break going back and forth, the Double Dunkers won the quarter 14-11 but that wouldnt be enough to start off a big run to try and smatch the lead back.
4th quarter saw the Double Dunkers come back breifly with some stellar defense and some big time shooting from Tim M and Jed who hit a few threes, but Bandwagoners were on a mission to keep the lead and with Lachy CR protecting the ball and his shooters and bigs inside doig their job, they kept their structure and kept the lead for the eventual win by 12 points this game. Double Dunkers concede the game after a strong showing, but the Bandwagoners were just a little better with the free throws being the difference this game as well as the turnovers from Double Ds which were 18-7 this game.
Top Performers this game from Bandwagoners were lachy CR on 24 points 6 assists and 5 rebounds leading this team with solid numbers which were complimented by Jake E on 15 points and 6 rebs,, as well as Izaak W on 14 points and 5 boards to seal the win and the chip! Double Dunkers had Jed P come in with a monster game with 26 points, Peter T with 9 points and a monster 18 boards. Tim and Bud pitched in 6 each in the loss.
Well Done to Double Dunkers for a tough season and solid run in the playoffs to just fall short in the finals to a solid Bandwagoners team. Congrats to the Bandwagoners to dominate the season as 1st rank and taking the chip on their solid structured play! Division 1 Tuesday Champions!

1st quarter of this game was a sight to be beheld as both teams were struggling to score so much that the final score was 7-4 in the quarter in favor of rthe Jets who came out firing from 3 but unable to hit all but 1 due to the defense by Parrots and some tough angles. Phil P was starting strong inside with 4 points 6 rebs so far. Parrots saw their leading man Nic D get 4 in the 1st quarter to start things off for his team.
2nd quarter looked to open up the scoring a little more as the players were getting loose and working their way around the defense. Corey M was heating up with 8 point so far for Jets being able to keep the lead by 5 as the quarter ticked down in time. Parrots had some of their guards get some buckets to go but they struggled to make some open looks down the stretch. BOth teams even on most fronts at this point, it could have been anyones game as the 2nd half started off.
3rd quarter was simliar to the 2nd as the Parrots were goin well in puting in some run stopping points but the buckets werent falling like they have been and Jets took advantage getting more points from Alex B with 9 for far and Trent trying his luck inside for a couple of drives. Doug D was stepping up for Parrots as he got his total to 6 at this point and Sam T was running hard with 5 so far, both teams still trying to get control of the game, but Jets were up by 10 at this point as the last 12 minutes of the game was next.
4th quarter saw the underdog team make a huge run that almost got them the upset win! Parrots werent going down this tiem without a fight, and after being down 10 they were able to fight back and draw the game up in the final minute, the Parrots scrambled and tried to get the go ahead bucket with scores tied at 39, but Alex B was on turbo mode as he raced up the court with the ball and streaked in for a scoop layup that would land in the bucket as the buzzzer sounded, break the hearts fo the Parrots who were so close in finishing of their solid 16-8 run in the quarter!
Alex B was the man of the match with the Grand Finals clinching layup with no time left, the stuff of dreams and a solid win for the boys after a tough season! Alex B on 13 points 5 rebounds and the game winner, supported by Corey M on 14 points and 11 rebs, Phil P on 6pts and huge 19 boards! Parrots had some top performers also with Sam T on 13 points to lead his team, and n Dunstan on 10 points. Dylan had 10 boards in the loss also as the Parrots go home with no chip but a great season to be proud of in a tough Div!
The Jets are crowned Div 2 champions after this game in such dramatic fashion, a game winner at the buzzer in the Grand Finals, who can top that next season!
Div 3

1st quarter opened up with both teams going hard at each other on all fronts, the Love Handles puttin gup some big 3s this quarter, Christian D was on fire with 3 of 3 from deep this quarter to lead his team with 11 points as Andrew L started to heat up with 4 points also. The Generals were putting the ball in the scorers' hands as the break was open for Jordyn W who had 8 in the quarter as well as Michael D who got 6 doing his damage from in the paint. The Generals down by 3 in this quarter which could switch at any time as we entered the 2nd.
2nd quarter saw the same flavor of pace hit the court from both teams, the back and forth baskets making for a grind of a game that would see both teams even on all stats. The Love handles shooting 10% better but being down 2 points at the half the leading scorers still getting buckets as the intensity was mounting towards the 2nd where each team would look to open up a lead if they get stops!
3rd quarter saw everyone get involved all players in the game had put buckets in up to this point, Jordyn leading the team with 18 so far and Michael on 15, whilst Bennett R was starting to get his to go with 7. The Love Handles were shooting well still with Tye M getting 11 so far, Christian with 13 and Ethan with 9 as the buckets were answered every time down the court, the score was now in the Generals favor by 1. the 4th would be the decider.
4th quarter action was more than the crowd could handle as both teams were in a race to the finish. The hot shooting from Love Handles getting them by as they hustled on the perimiter to stop The Generals attack from deep. BOth teams shot well overall but Love Handles shot a great 47% which was 11% more than The Generals which made all the difference in the end. The Generals winning the turnovers too as they had 4 less. The Love handles would hold the lead and Ethan P would seal the game on free throws to seal the win and the chip!
Top performers in the game for The Generals were Jordyn W on 22 points and 7 rebounds, and Michael D on 17 points 7 rebounds on 47% shooting. Love Handles saw some big numbers from their troops, led by Ethan P who notched 19 points on 46%FG, Tyle M on 17 points and 6 rebs on a blinding 58%FG. Christian D got a tidy 13 points and Andrew L a double double with 12 points and 10 rebs to get the team to the final goal!
Well done to The Generals for a great season hovering around the top of the Ladder all season, only to fall short the hot shooting Love Handles who deserves a big Congratulations for taking out the title in a solid close out game, Champions of Division 3 Tuesday!
