WEDNESDAYs Season 16 has come to a close for its regular season, and through a pandemic, the ballers kept ballin with the extended season testing many athletes, this round was DOUBLE points, which can change ranks big time! who got the bonus points? Well done to all teams who took part of the season, PLayoffs next week!
DIv 1 was bursting with some action as the teams faced off for the last time in the regular season series, no surprises in this one all favorites got up but some were closer than other games!
Hogz took the game second half from the MIB who took another loss sliding a little further in rank on the ladder. Elliot J channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 23 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Nate P let it fly and hit more than missed with 22 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Angus M heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 29 points on the sheet , Jack H was stroking it with ease from all parts of the arc. 22 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. The game started close, the Hogz warming their shots up as the 1st half went on, MIB kept up with the pace and stayed strong inside, but the Hogz run came and hammered them at one point in the 2nd and by the buzzer the difference was just over 10,despite Angus’s break out scoring, showing anyone can come in range of the always championship caliber Hogz… Hogz finish the season with an almost unbeaten record only copping 1 loss and taking #1 spot by far, MIB sit in 5th and just havnt had a consistent season but can still ball with the best of them when at full strength. Great season to both.
Bombers started strong and got the jump on Splash in a game that had the winners go on scoring runs that werent answered in time. Jerome T put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 19 points to shut the defense down. . Danny L the recipient of some nice extra passes for open shots getting him 18 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Dr Lach E only was able to get a less than his average with 13 points recorded by the bench , Christian Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 12 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Splash were looking good first half and were getting buckets in answer for every bucket Bombers threw at them, but the Bombers were able to outlast Splash by getting some extra points in the paint knowing that Splashs inside defense was limited. Game Bomber, who finish in 3rd place after a great season just under 50% in wins. Splash sit in 6th and have had some good games this season, the last part showed they are a Div1 team with just a few games not going their way by a few points.
Shooters grinded out a win in back and forth match vs Streetfighters in a grind of a game coming right down to the last few minutes to decide the winner. JeZ B points from slashing and finding the gaps in the zone D. 18 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Jake L had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 12 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Scotty W couldnt be stopped this game, and couldnt be contained, the D had no answer as he scored a whopping 35 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Andy K was shooting well from deep with 9 points on the sheet . Great game, and game of the Div this one was close! Both teams working different games but being effective enough to keep the score mega close till the final buzzer where the game was iced in garbage time after some close but failed attempts to level the score. Shooters take this one, and take the 2nd place claiming the feat of the only team to defeat the Hogz and have rose up to battle anyone in a very skilled division.Streefighters in 4th place for the final ranks, not able to put 3 wins together all season are always ready for the playoffs and can compete with bigger teams as shown this game.
Div 2 had some things to sort out, some ranks to establish and some pre playoff game previews of what could be matchups in the final dance.
Yo Mambas started strong and got the jump on The Mates in a loud and hectic game keeping refs active and players tense. Oscar S got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 24 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Ali M Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 13 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Bok beasted hard this game finishing on a great 17 points but a loss unfortunately , Vikas head faking and luring the post D to one side then dropping many paint points in totalling 13 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Yo Mambas getting the win and pushing the pace inside and out as the Mates got a little boost on the outside shot but just weren’t able to get stops and the momentum needed to mount a play that got them the advantage, the game only decided by a couple of points. Yo Mambas stand tall at Numbers 1 spot in the Division stacked with Div 1 potentials and The Mates just miss out on the playoffs and look to next season to rebuild.
Killa Beez were pumped to be playing BUCKETS in a grind of a game coming right down to the last few minutes to decide the winner. Tyran R beasted hard this game finishing on a great 26 points to get over the line. . Corey M had a pretty good game scoring wise with 6 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, A Mercer scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Anthony G pitched in to add to the score with, 6 points but a loss unfortunately . This game was heated with both teams chopping and swiping with a lot of action to keep up with, some broken plays gave the Killa Beez the extra points needed on the break and put another in the win column for the last game of the regular season. Killa Beez snap a 3 game losing streak to get back in the winners circle jsut before playoffs…they take the 2nd rank and put a message out to the Div that they are hungry for the chip. Buckets sit in 4th and have been better pre covid break but have done well post break with some new heads in the roster.
Div 3 was stacked with ladder rank switches that nobody saw coming, with crucial games affecting everyones ranks, the scene is now set for the playoffs.
Fumblerz took the game second half from the The Wolves and went back to the locker room with a solid Win. Danny B getting stats from everywhere including 19 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Dave Popping up some well timed floaters in the lane getting numbers, with 15 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Chris O scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 16 points but a loss unfortunately , Sam G finished the game with a commendable 6 points as he pitched in to add to the score. . FUmblerz were out for blood and wins as they hammered in the steps and got running on the break. The extra help on the glass was also a game changer as Wolves just couldn’t get close to them this game or stop their extra efforts in the paint, Fumblerz take the dub. And as a results they come in 3rd, equal second on point, but just 1 win short of the 2nd spot. Ballers have been pushing the limits lately and taking on teams and putting a show on, the attack led by Russell on the Fast Break has been instrumental and notched them the win this game and also the 4th rank this season. Lobstars just below in 6th spot and make the playoffs in clutch fashion. Lobstars have had an up and down season trying to get chemistry going, Alex S getting a 3 and a floater to go for his first buckets ever to top off a fun season for the Lobstars.
Prestige WORLDWIDE wins a resounding victory over the unlucky Bohica and was able to get the much needed win. Sam B just too much experience around the paint getting 20 points to ensure they get the win this round. Jono 6 & Jack helped out with the load getting 6 points to get over the line. simply out working the other scorers being, John J got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 22 points in this game. , Connor had a pretty good game scoring wise with 7 points in the loss . Prestige Worldwide get their first win after a 16 game losing streak comes to an end. Prestige get their FIRST win of the season and in great fashion. Closing out on the glass and pushing the ball inside got them the dub and getting everyone involved on the scoreboard was a big help, great effort Prestige WOrlwide who look to build on this win next season! Bohica had a big surprise as they took this loss on the chin but stand tall at Rank Number 2 in the final standings as their season was a strong and dominant one going on win streaks all season and getting their strategy right for the playoffs.
