The Grand Finals night is here!
Season 4 had its best 2 teams from each division face off, this time is was Div1 and Div2, big time matchups, the winner crowned Champions!
Division 1 was the 2 best teams of MOnday nights, 1 team, Shaqtn a fools, keen for some revenge from last seasons loss to Monstars, this time Battiers stood in their way, and had a great season coming in 2nd but the differences in game was only to be told the box score.
First quarter bv action had Shaqtns get out to quick start from the outside as Elliot got the shots up and hit them with a 3/5 downtown attack, Anf and Jai also hit a three to try and bury Battiers Early, but Battiers had other ideas, staying close, 16-14 on the back of Will D with 7 points and 5 rebs, and Paddy on 5 points so far, looking like it was 2s vs 3s, which tactic would prevail?
Going into the 2nd quarter, the deadlock continued, Battiers unable to get calls on their drive due to the walls built by Shaqtn paint protectors, the score barely changed with Shaqtns only edging Battiers by an extra point in the period to maintain a lead of 2 going to end the half. Elliot the star for Shqtns with 13 so far, half the teams points, and Will D on 11pts 6 rebs so far. The tale of the take was still the same, the FG% low, but Shaqtns doing it from 3, and Battiers from inside, Battiers were 0/8 at the half from deep,6/18 for Shaqtns.
2nd half commenced and as we know the 3rd quarter can decide the game, This quarter belonged to Shaqtns as they went on a 19-10 run hitting 4 threes, 2 from Anthony N and 2 from Jai, this split the game open, the only category Battiers leading in was Rebounds, the 4th quarter was the last chance for Battiers to get the gap closed and go for the win.
4th quarter was crunch time, and Battiers put up 12 points to finish the quarter almost equaling the scoring effort of Shaqtns by a point, but this didn’t put a dent in the lead, not enough for a championship run and title claim! Paddy finished the quarter scoring 9 points to try claw back, but it was too late, Shaqtn a Fools win the title by 12 points difference, but it was only the extra threes, these two teams matched up very well.
The final box score showed some big scoring performances and some nice stats, Elliot the finals MVP with 25 points 8 rebounds and 3 assists, Jai R with 15 points and 7 assists, 3 steals on 50% FG, and Anthony N with 13 points hitting crucial 3 point buckets. Battiers players were big too with 2 players getting 16, Paddy F with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Will D a big Finals double double on 16 and 10 rebounds on 50% shooting, Tim L pitched in with 7 points 3 assists.
Well done Battiers on a great season and great run at the title, only to fall short in the 2nd half.

Div 2 featured last seasons runner up and the new finalists, Ken and Friends vs The Process, both teams building up to this moment for a while, The Process unlucky last year not able to get it done, but this season, it was their time, how did they do it?
First quarter saw both teams a little nervous / shaky to start as they warmed up their shots and worked out what each others team was doing, Th Process had the jump just slightly as they finished the quarter with a 2 point lead as Grant H got hungry for buckets and had 6 points so far to lead the team, Mart T on 4 and Dan B on 3 for Ken and Friends , all other stats even, more steals to KaF, only 12 minutes in and things were heating up!
2nd quarter saw not much difference as the very evenly matched teams faced off on all sides of the floor, Luke A starting to get busy down low with a big half of 9 points and 15 rebounds already a near double double, Trent was his assignment who scored 8 points so far, Mark on 6, the score, EVEN! 21 a piece, boards even FG% even , really nothing between them expect KaF put up more threes and The Process slightly more 2s, showing the difference n their styles.
The 2nd half would start with both team pumped up from their locker room talk and came out with some frantic hustle!

Big performances this game to the runner ups, Trent F with 13 points, Dan B with 12 points, 6 rebs and 4 assists, KaF shot less efficient losing on overall FG% 36-29, whilst Process win on Boards, 38-28, steals, 9-5, most all other stats were even on the box score, the big factor, boards and inside shots, The Process big dogs got some numbers from Luke A with 18 points and 18 boards for a double double on 50% shooting in the finals, epic! Wayne J 15 points and 4 rebs on 50% shooting also!
The Process is COMPLETE!! They stuck with it, added a key player and Boom Finals Glory!!! Can they back it up next season in Div1? We can only wait and see!
