Div 1 had some streaks on the line, little ones but still worth going hard this round to end the year with a positive record! The round robin still hasn’t come around again so theres some new matchups to check out!
Bone Collectors started strong and got the jump on Unanderra 26ers who always bring their game. Jerome T couldnt miss much as he led his team with 20 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Grady H with an epic performance and great score of 17 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Tim R 8 & Jeremy C slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 8 points on the sheet , Alain I had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 7 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. This matchup was good from the start, the points going back and forth with a varied shot selection that showed for a close game, but the Bones were left out, and The collectors came to collect, with Jerome pulling up on a dime and putting in some wet buckets and Grady jumping throughthe roof with 4 dunks, including a rim rocking windmill that silences the Away crowd, capping off a solid game against a proven 26ers crew who just couldn’t match the pace on the break and lost mainly due to that inbalance. Bone Collectors in equal 1st and 26ers in 2nd.
Dellys Disciples knew what to expect when they faced Cosmic Lightning and luckily scraped up a solid close out victory Vinny beasted hard this game finishing on a great 21 points to shut the defense down. . Jack M got to good spots on the court and shot well with 13 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Christian Popping up some well timed floaters in the lane getting numbers, with 19 points recorded by the bench , James was heating up as he bagged 12 points helping out with the teams offensive load. .Drama filled game with emotions flying, Dellys had some line up changes and some new attacks to put on display this night, Cosmic Lightning were out on the break as always, and putting up some unguarded Js that just didn’t drop this game as they usually do, Dellys jumped on that chance to get out into the lead and they kept it slightly most 2nd half, with Cosmic at their heels, the difference only 5 points in the end. Should make for a super close matchup next time they meet…Dellys in 3rd, and Cosmic in 4th place to finish off the year…
Shaqtin’ a Fools knew it would take more than buckets, they needed stops and that got them the win.. Benders in a grind of a game coming right down to the last few minutes to decide the winner. Lachy CR couldnt be stopped this game, and couldnt be contained, the D had no answer as he scored a whopping 20 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Jack H slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 18 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Chris W just too much experience shooting the 3 with 12 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Dan W 6 & Jasper played well as far as getting 6 points on the sheet . The streak lives on as the year dies out, the number 1 spot clinched for 2020, but even with 2 other teams showing the closeness in competiion. Bender came out firing and had a big first half putting Shaqtn in a 10 point hole they needed to dig out of with consistent play and going to the line, since their shooting wasn’t as normal high accuracy. Benders got unlucky on a few plays and the Shaqtn boys focused on chipping away with some quick baskets. Great challenge for the defending champs pushed to the limits by a great team that has all positions covered. Benders in 4th but don’t sleep on this crew!
Div 2 had some big time first time matchups, the wins giving the team a psychological edge for the next time they meet next year. Whos leading the way at the end of 2020?
Cream City grinded out a win in back and forth match vs Miami Yeet , who underestimated the hustle of their opponent and copped a loss for it Trent put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 19 points in the big dominating victory. . Taco J finished the game with a commendable 11 points to get over the line. but on the other side Aidan E kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 10 points as he was operating in automatic mode , Jacob M scored well with 6 points together as they go down in this matchup. . Cream City get the matchup they’ve been waiting for, the friendly rivals butting heads this time, going back and forth with 3s and 2s, but the main activity was in the paint with some floaters coming in volume from both teams. Cream City had the edge this game getting some open looks and flushing them to get the win and the equal 2nd place, whilst Miami Yeet on a little slide sitting in 4th place to end the year.
The Bandicoots ,right out of the gates, jumped on the Pandemic Ps in a game that started close but ended one sided. Angus M weaved through the zone D with some nice footwork finishing on 30 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Sam C 20 & Jack B getting stats from everywhere including 17 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Ryan S heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 21 points but a loss unfortunately , Mitchell B the recipient of some nice extra passes for open shots getting him 7 points helping out with the teams offensive load. This game was packed with buckets and big defensive plays! Ryan S back in his boots and hungry for some action dominating everywhere, but this game they needed 1 more to step up and cover some scoring but it wasn’t there this time with Bandicoots putting a hand up on everything. The pS needed to get stops and limit the outside shot, but in the end that was the factor, more 3s from Bandicoots got them the win…Bandicoots in 1st and Pandemic Ps in 3rd after this match.
Double Dribble grinded out a revenge win in a back and forth match vs Thicc Boiis and pushed it all the way to the end. Jayke Z was shooting well from deep with 10 points to get over the line. . Grant O just too much experience around the paint getting 7 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, Ryan M pushed the fast break and trasnsition offense resulting in 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Matt C played well as far as getting 9 points but a loss unfortunately . Double Dribble taking this one seriously as Thiic Bois always bring a physical game, and this rivalry was amplified in the last grand finals, and the intensity was massive, everyone on edge as the emotions flew as well as the bodies everywhere. Great scrappy game but Thiic Bois couldn’t get many 3s to go, working too hard on the inside wore them down and Double Dribble slotted in some downtowners to keep the TB away to win by a few..Thiic Boiis in equal 2nd and DDs are in sharing that rank too as they finish the year with a heated match!

The Peelers, getting things done when it counts, taking the break and making the baseline cut work for them all game, helping them to keep the lead on the ICONS who had some good drive and dish plays, but were only able to convert most of them with the bigs of Orane ge Peelers putting their hands up on everything…The rivalry goes on and with this next chapter complete, the Peelers hold the edge for now, till next time they meet. Air Ballers went back and forth but held the lead most of the game against Average Joes who struggled to break the defense to get buckets. Joel RJ beasted hard this game finishing on a great 9 big ones to conlclude the mission . Harrison P played well as far as getting 8 points on the sheet which simply outscored the other teams leaders being, Dan B was unconscious and had no remorse for the defense piling in 12 points recorded by the bench , Scott T finished the game with a commendable 10 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Average Joes cop an L just after a great performance last week, taking that confidence into this game as they had all their troops ready for action. Scott and Dan put up some good shots but the Airballers were using their loud bench to spur them on, the crowd losing it after every basket. Av joes end up in equal 2nd place and Airballers just below in 3rd as this game was a close and evenly matched one from the start.
Dunkings started strong and got the jump on Bricklayers and put up alot of unanswered buckets to mount up the lead and the win. Sam B points from slashing and finding the gaps in the zone D. 20 points to ensure they get the win this round. Ivan C took a back seat to scoring, but not by much getting 19 points to get over the line. simply out working the other scorers being, Michajlo scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 10 points in this game. , Djorji played well as far as getting 7 points in the loss . Dunkings defending their chip with a solid outing, a big scoreline with many players getting double digits due to their running and gunning. Bricklayers were able to break their runs here and there, but the chemistry driven Dunkings were too much in the end and the winner was crowned for this match, the Prawns. Bricklayers end up in 4th rank for now and Dunkings in equal 1st to finish off the year!
