1ST placed Globo Gym had better offense than the defense of their opponent, 6th placed More Buckets and set the tone from the start, big mentions to the performers in this game. Reggie K channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 16 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Kobe 10 & Maxi played well as far as getting 8 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Sam T getting stats from everywhere including 16 points on the sheet , Jack T going to work down low in the blender. 11 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Globo Gym on the hunt to get their 2nd title in a row, back to back, but before they get to the next stage they needed to disperse of the upstart More Buckets who came into the league hungry for a title after their Tuesday night battles are well in the past. This squad put up some great plays and did well to keep the Globo Gym guards from getting their three ball to go so the action was inside as the cutters got busy and the defense was at an all time high!
Globo Gym in the lead by 5 points at the half clinging to the lead as Sam T put all his skills on display with a team high 16 putting in some drives and mid range jumpers that kept More Buckets in the hunt. Reggie K wasn’t letting down as he finished the first half strong and continued his stellar play into the 2nd half putting in 13 of his 16 to equal game high. Kobe showed his range and dominance down low helping out with some crucial points. Maxi was doin well driving to the cup making the bigs from More Buckets play some tough angles down low. With the buckets going back and forth the crucial moment was when Adrian N got the ball right next to the basket and was able to put a soft shot in which pushed Globo gym ahead by 1 point. With More Buckets unable to get solid look to try and snatch the game. In the end it was only a matter of 1 point difference in score as the final buzzer sounded. 5th placed The Birchos with an amzing finish and win vs 2ND placed Buckled Knees in a grind of a game coming right down to the last few minutes to decide the winner. Adam L couldnt miss much as he led his team with 11 points to shut the defense down. . Tim W slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 9 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Joel S the recipient of some nice extra passes for open shots getting him 8 points recorded by the bench , Dave G pushed the fast break and trasnsition offense resulting in 7 points helping out with the teams offensive load. .
Birchos fell short of the Grand Finals last year but this time they were determined to give ti a red hot go. Buckled Knees had other plans, and they came out with their full squad keen to get the game in their control from the start. But both teams took a little bt to get going, the Birchos pushing it inside and using their chemistry to get extra passes to the right spots to attack. Buckled Kneeshit their first 2 threes then didn’t see much luck from that distance as the game went on. Adam L was hungry and was showing it as he drove over and over to find his shot and punish the interior defnse for not stepping up, Tim W provided a steady flow of points with some nice threes and some tidy finishes. Buckled Knees had Dave G running the point trying to find the best chance to get buckets and did well as Joel S banged in the big jumpers which was their chosen offense this game. Birchos held out and late 2nd half Kane S hi a three and then 2 fre throws to widen the scoring gap as Birchos took the game into garbage time where Tim calmly sank 2 free throws to send them tot eh Grand Finals!
