Thursdays Season 3 comes to a close for its regular season games, and the playoffs are next up. But this week it’s the big DOUBLE POINTS round that adds a touch of urgency and hecticness to the games making for a solid round of ball!
Globo Gym with an amzing finish and win vs Figtree Cannons in and overtime thriller that kept the crowd waiting for the next bucket to close the game Blake Popping up some well timed floaters in the lane getting numbers, with 13 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Liam 11 & Jaden pitched in to add to the score with, 11 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Andrew F slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 13 points on the sheet , Scott D got a few buckets to go helping out the team with 10 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Figtree Cannons 3 game winning streak is over after this games results ! Game started with a quick pace, Figtree Cannons taking the lead in the first half using their showtime shooters to get a slight edge..Globo Gym getting a big boost from Liam who put in 11 2nd half points and Jaden H with 2 huge 3s back to back to bring the score close then Jacob hit a 2 and it was OT!! Each team had a few goes at it but Blake drove and hit a clutch off balance shot…the only one in overtime which sealed the win for Globo Cannons ..both team leaving it all on the floor this round… Figtree Cannons end up in 3rd and Globo Gym a great season to end up 1st in the division!
Buckled Knees took the game second half from the Dream Team , who underestimated the accuracy of their opponent and copped a loss for it Scott M heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 25 points to shut the defense down. . Dave G pulling up Js from the around the paint and beyond resulting in 12 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Snowy O got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 31 points recorded by the bench , Jack pitched in to add to the score with, 5 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Buckled Knees 3 game losing streak is over! Which was jjust in time for playoffs! The two teams were even at the first half…Dream Team up by 1..Snowy unstoppable in the first half with his deceptive euro step getting the better of the BK defenders…2nd half BK got busy and Scott M got firing from his spots and hitting some big shots… blowing the lead out to double digits…whilst limiting Dream team in the 2nd stopping Snowys easy drives..BK finish the season in 2nd place…Dream team just miss out on the playoffs after an injury plagued season..the curse ends here as they go home early..good season to the boys but Buckled Knees just too strong in the end…
