Thursdays are getting bigger and bigger as teams keep joining the ranks of teams fighting for this seasons championship. Next week more teams enter and will put these teams to the test, but in this round, the games were eventful.
The Stallions grinded out a win in back and forth match vs Scorgasms in a physical matchup that will set the tone for next time. Jono N got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 12 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Walt K had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 9 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Daniel B 10 & Nick G felt it was time to step up and got 10 points on the sheet , Darryl M pitched in to add to the score with, 8 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Stallions always come with the hustle and put their combined efforts together to try and outdo the other team one way or another, usually down in the post. Scorgasms however play the small ball game and run and get the fast break points that Stallions were chasing all game, right down to the last moments when Zeke calmly went to the line and hit a free throw to win the game, ice cold! Scorgasms take the L this time but it was too close showing that its anyones season to take!
Rogues wins a resounding victory over the unlucky FlammaBulls and set the tone from the start, big mentions to the performers in this game. Jake beasted hard this game finishing on a great 10 points to shut the defense down. . Jordan Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 6 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as George B finished the game with a commendable 9 points recorded by the bench , Stuart G scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 8 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Rogues looking for the long pass and pushing the tempo this game vs FlammaBulls who had their own brand of ball whch was working well this game. Rogues got out to a small lead and kept it all game, the trickle of points coming from Jakes tough finishes down low. FlammaBulls fighting to get off the lower ranks now as Rogues sit in equal 3rd!
Air jellem with an amzing finish and win vs Buckled Knees in a physical matchup that will set the tone for next time. Jarryd T couldnt miss much as he led his team with 17 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Rhys P also helped out in the win with 11 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Scott M just too much experience shooting the 3 with 10 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Lachlan pitched in to add to the score with, 10 points on the sheet . Air jellem knew it was going to be a long game… Buckled Knees always bring out the best in the teams they play at a fast pace and press the defense. Every game gets intense and even the peace loving Air jellem played a different game, one that got them the lead which they kept throughout. Buckled Knees were unable to control their passion and ended the game early with an L this time as Air jellem rise to the top of the ladder to Number 1 spot with this win!
Birchos took the game second half from the Southside Ballers in a game that started close but ended one sided. Adam L with an epic performance and great score of 20 points in the big dominating victory. . Tim W 11 & Jackson J finished the game with a commendable 10 points to get over the line. but on the other side Jacob F getting stats from everywhere including 7 points as he was operating in automatic mode , Cody T ended up with an efficient 5 points in the matchup that couldve gone either way. . Birchos got in early and were tuning their jump shots to get some buckets this game. Southside Ballers still new to the comp didn’t know what knd of game Birchos would bring, as they attack the midrange right into the mouth got the zone, popping up Js in the centers face.
