Tuesdays hit the Playoffs and its Season 11 Post season action that gets going this week, THe Quarter finals is here and the matchups all reflect how hard your team worked in the regular season. Its do or die now, anyone can rise up and upset the favorites…check out this epic round of UBL Playoff Basketball!
Div 1 had the TGAC & Chargers and take a weeks break for leading the Div in 1st and 2nd spot. The rest of the Div, ranks 3 to 6 face off to see who advances to the next round!
4th ranked Double Dunkers took the game second half from the 5th ranked Multiple Scoregasm and went back to the locker room with a solid Win. Jed P couldnt be stopped this game, and couldnt be contained, the D had no answer as he scored a whopping 30 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Peter T 11 & CJ pitched in to add to the score with, 8 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, James & Aidan slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 28 points on the sheet , Brayden N got a few buckets to go helping out the team with 8 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Multiple Scoregasm came out strong with Aidan and James UC combining for the first 16 points, getting a little jump on the Double Dunkers at the half by 3 points, Brayden hitting 2 threes before the half then Aron hit a 3 to get the lead. This was the last lead they had as Double Dunkers got out firing, Jed P getting 13 in the 1st half and 17 in the 2nd to bring the win home for Double Dunkers . He was hitting his 3 ball and sinking his patented floater. Multiple Scoregasm did their best in the 2nd, Jay G going on a quick scoring run tring to get momentum back, but it was Double Dunkers who get to advance after the win leaving Multiple Scoregasm to go home early in the first round of the playoffs, so close, they should hold their heads high as they battled all season, losing most games by a small amount. Watch out for their hot start next season!
3rd ranked KillaBeez shot the lights out against a helpless 6th ranked The Bandwagoners , who underestimated the accuracy of their opponent and copped a loss for it Alex P put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 24 points to shut the defense down. . Will G was stroking it with ease from all parts of the arc. 17 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Ryan M beasted hard this game finishing on a great 14 points recorded by the bench , Josh H 12 & Marcus R pitched in to add to the score with, 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . KillaBeez starting the game hot with Alex unstoppable down low and Will G getting 3s and floaters to go with ahmad running the transition, this gave the lead to KillaBeez by the half with Bandwagoners looking to get some 3 bombs to go and bridge the gap.Ryan M playing strong from the high post and Marcus extra active getting some buckets, Josh H slotted in some big run stopping 3s too…. It was going well, but with no one to check Alex P on the inside, it was done and KillaBeez advance to the next round! Good season from the Bandwagoners who go into rebuild to replace their assets and compete next season!
Div 2 had a bunch of games that needed to be sorted out, 4 of them and the chance for a top team to go down can happen! With 8 teams getting in, it was a race to the finish.
1st ranked The Whoopsy Fudge Stripes started strong and got the jump on 8th ranked Bricklayers and pushed it all the way to the end. Jack O got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 20 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Lachlan W 14 & Sam S played well as far as getting 14 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Ethan B let it fly and hit more than missed with 9 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Willam P ended up with an efficient 7 points on the sheet . Whoopsy Fudge Stripes always come out of the gates running and this was no different, with playoffs elimination in mind, there was an extra focus on D and they put in work which paid off. The big 3 this game was Jack O who played hard with some moves and good shooting, Lachlan W and Sam ran the break and drove for the cup everytime, getting some easy buckets. Bricklayers had their own attack as Ethan was confident from outside and on his floater, William P hitting some run stopping 3s too but it wasn’t enough to stop the Whoopsy Fudge Stripes going for every possible steal and advancing them to the Semi Finals! Good season Bricklayers in a challenging division, they did well to not compete and push teams to their limits!
4th ranked Dream Team went back and forth but held the lead most of the game against 5th ranked Fighting Mongooses , who underestimated the defence of their opponent and copped a loss for it Dave G channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 13 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Nate D10 & Grant O finished the game with a commendable 8 points on the sheet even though from the other team, G Bailey beasted hard this game finishing on a great 17 points but a loss unfortunately , Josh S the recipient of some nice extra passes for open shots getting him 13 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Dream Team fnished off the regular season looking in form. This game was the battle of 11s as both teams had their guards who wore 11 lead their team in scoring. Dave G led Dream Team with some very efficient shooting and crafty finishes whilst Glenn B for Mongooses outsocred him by 4 points. The deeper Dream Team got productivity from Nate on the mid range and Grant inside, who has been finishing down low with dominance lately. Mongooses had some good sparks from Glenn on the break and from outside and Joel S did well backup up the middle, but Mongooses needed some more stops this game. Mongooses take the L and go home early this season despite a good winning record and asuper close battle to the finish in this game. Dream team go to the Semis and await the challenge!
3rd ranked Cream City just able to get the win by a bucket or so vs 6th ranked Heat Check in a grind of a game coming right down to the last few minutes to decide the winner. Tom M slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 14 points to get over the line. . Trent F pitched in to add to the score with, 10 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, Jake E heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 25 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Tyla T Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 14 points but a loss unfortunately . Cream City was on their game early, getting their inside game working well with Aidan cleaning up to start the game. Trent got buckets this half too with some scoops to the hoop, but Heat Check were on fire and Tyla (4 threes ) and Jake combined to score 27 of their 29 points giving them a slight lead in the first half by 6 points. Tom M was playing point, but started to get his 3 ball going in the 2nd half scoring 11 and pushing the catchup till Trent hit the last shot of the game giving Cream City the 1 point lead over Heat Check, who just lost to them last week by74 points! What a turnaround! But this time Cream City clipped them this time and advance to the next round.
Wyangal Pirates took the game second half from the Ultra Instinct and with a big size difference, they went down this time Nick B couldnt be stopped this game, and couldnt be contained, the D had no answer as he scored a whopping 27 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Sam B 15 & Alex B also helped out in the win with 10 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Jono C 16 & Jordan P heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 16 points but a loss unfortunately , Jake P had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 14 points as he pitched in to add to the score. . Wyangal Pirates were looking to dominate this game but only led by 2 at the half Nick B putting in work to the effect of 12 points keeping the score close. Ultra Instinct had Jordan step up big time getting his jumper warmed up hitting some good shots and layups, Jake P was on point with this jumper and Jono was a standout with his energetic game putting I some 3s as well to leave it all on the floor. Wyangal Pirates simply outscored the Ultra Instinct boys in the 2nd half Nick and Sam B continuing to attack with their jumpers and the defense was lockdown, not givin Ultra Instinct an easy look in the 2nd. Wyangal Pirates advance to the Semis and Ultra Instinct go home early after a good season that ended early this game.
Div 3 saw the ranks 3 to 6 go at it to see who would play the div 3 leaders in first and 2nd. 5th ranked Parrots shot the lights out against a helpless 4th ranked Fun Guys in a game that started close but ended one sided. Jack T 13 & Sam T channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 13 big ones to conlclude the mission . Cameron I helped out with the load getting 11 points on the sheet which simply outscored the other teams leaders being, Justin F getting stats from everywhere including 16 points recorded by the bench , Jye W let it fly and hit more than missed with 10 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Parrots were looking to make this their season to make a real shot at the title and Fun Guys stood in their way, not as experienced in the playoffs compared to Parrots who have been here many times and know how to get things done now! Fun Guys had some big scoring efforts from Justin F who was smashing down the mid range and getting his layups to finish scoring half his teams points in the first as they led by a bucket. Fun Guys couldn’t stop Sam T and Jack T in the 2nd half, the two combing for 16 points and bringing the game home strong. Fun Guys go home early but only lost by a handful of buckets, every possession counts and this time Parrots converted more of them and advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs, 1 round away from the Grand Finals!
3rd ranked The Generals wins a resounding victory over the unlucky 6th ranked Feel Team 6 in a clinic, taking advantage of lesser defensive matchup. Bennett R put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 17 points to ensure they get the win this round. Jordyn W 14 & Michael D was heating up as he bagged 12 points to get over the line. simply out working the other scorers being, Jordan N couldnt miss much as he led his team with 15 points in this game. , Simon M 7 & Bryce K ended up with an efficient 6 points in the loss . Generals had to get this one to go after having a great season. Feel Team 6 were on point to upset the Generals but missing Cody on the inside allowed a lot of driving layups to go unguarded and un rebounded. This led to Feel Team 6 chasing the fast break all game and chasing the lead. Generals guards got out running again and stole the game on the fast break. Bennett R top scoring and being very efficient on the mid range Jordyn W was just too quick for the Feel Team guards to defend and they were left to get their buckets. Michael D also played well as the Generals advance to the Semis, Feel Team 6 go home early looking to the next season to get their revenge after a good season from them.
Its Semis next week so keep the team all read up on your plays so when its time to execute, it will be winning time! Coz if you don’t, its go home time, wondering what could have been!
