Div 1 was packed with amazing games with some crazy results…the speculation of the critics proveed wrong as Hogz finally got beat by the upstart Shooters and Bombers come back big time to win!
Shooters got a good first ever win on the forever hustling Hogz and knew it would be a test on their troops. Brooklyn G let it fly and hit more than missed with 19 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Jake L was hitting the midrange shot with some soft touches 12 points to his name as he helps lead the boys to a much needed win. whilst on the other team, Nate P was stroking it with ease from all parts of the arc. 18 points on the sheet , Aaron P scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 17 points together as they go down in this matchup. What a game, Hogz finally go down!!! Hogz holding a 1 bucket lead most game and the lead changing every possession it seemed, the game was full of answer back 3s, big time paint action and huge plays including the last minute as Jezz put the final nail in giving Hogz the first loss in a long time, ending their 9 game winning undefeated streak! Shooters firing on all weapons and a great win but still in 2nd by less than a game. Shooters step up their streak to 5
Streetfighters took the game second half from the Splash in a game that started close but ended one sided. Zac M let it fly and hit more than missed with 19 points to shut the defense down. . Macca R also helped out in the win with 10 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Lach D slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 13 points recorded by the bench , Jayden was heating up as he bagged 5 points helping out with the teams offensive load. .Streetfighters started slow but got the groove going and were able to push the ball up the court and notch the extra buckets down the stretch, Splash lacking some firepower on the outside weren’t able to score in bunches to get the lead, SF a much needed win for 3rd place now as Splash keen for their troops to return and get going again.
Bombers left it till the final moments after a huge scoring run against MIB , who underestimated the hustle of their opponent and copped a loss for it D Lemme had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 18 points to lead to victory. . Jed P pitched in to add to the score with, 13 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Dan B with an epic performance and great score of 21 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Jack H scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 15 points on the sheet . Bombers just too strong and sticking to the script coming back from almost 10 in the last 3 minutes to come back and notch the win on a go ahead bucket by Jed P, Lemme hit 6 threes which helped immensely. the Bombers in 4th and starting to get momentum now, MIB just still hungry and so close to breaking the losing streak.
Div 2 had a solid overtime and some old rivals meeting again to take on each other on the hardwood to see who had the lucky touch tonight…
Killa Beez had its sights set on Yo Mambas in a clinic, taking advantage of lesser defensive matchup. Tyran R got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 29 big ones to conlclude the mission . Fumblerz got a good win on the Bohica in a super close overtime battle decided by the final play, Mitch J was unconscious and had no remorse for the defense piling in 14 points to get over the line. . Dave G Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 12 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, John J had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 13 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Grant O scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 9 points but a loss unfortunately . This game was a game of runs, each team having their turn of the lead and the last minute wasn’t enough time to get the result or any result, so OT happened and the locked scoring continued. JJ getting a free throw to go, but the last play had Danny B dribble through traffic and flip a pass to the hot hands of Mitch J who put it in RIGHT at the buzzer, the controversial play waved in as counted and BOHICA copped a loss! Kents too quick, too hungry and too much for Lobstars, Kents started slow, the game was a soccer score in the first 5 minutes with both sides sussing each other out, Kents got running and put on the pressure with some full court press, and they got the jump and kept the lead after halftime on the way to a solid victory!
