Div 1 had its 2 semi finals game, the last stop before the big game, the Grand Finals, the teams were ready to battle it out with some new faces in the semis, who gets to battle for the chip next round?
1ST place Hogz started strong and got the jump on 6th place Splash in a clinic, taking advantage of lesser defensive matchup. Aaron P channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 29 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Elliot J 16 & Nate P had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 15 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Adrian G couldnt miss much as he led his team with 15 points on the sheet , Dr Lach getting some fadeaways to fall to contribute to the result with 9 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Hogz came out with playoff mode Activated. They scoring started straight away, and the defense didn’tlet down all game…Splash did what they could to mount up some offense, mainly pushing it from the mid range and popping 3s up to hope they can get something going, but it was just too little to scratch the surface of the Hogz championship roster…Great season by Splash to get up in ranks and get past the Quarters, big game for them and they went down fighting! Hogz in the Grand Finals again, whoever plays them has a mission and a half to complete, The most dominant team in UBL Wed history so far…
2ND place Shooters knew it would take more than buckets, they needed stops and that got them the win.. 4th place Streetfighters and knew it would be a test on their troops. Jez B put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 20 points to shut the defense down. . Jake L 13 & Brooklyn G heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 12 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Scotty W just too much experience around the paint getting 16 points recorded by the bench , Andy K was shooting well from deep with 14 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . This game was set to be the game of the night and it turned out that way , with a huge defensive game from the get go, the action taking place mainly in the paint, with both teams pushing their way inside to get buckets and and1s. The buckets were traded all game till late 2nd half, the Shooters crept inside and got some and1s to go, then a couple of threes from Brooklyn, broke the game out and handed the win to Shooters. Streetfighters just not able to hit on their outside shots as well as they do, and their drives were met with a wall of D. SF go home early to look at their strategies as Shooters go on to play Hogz in the Grand Finals!
Div 2 had 1 game and it was a 1st vs 4th matchup which would sort out who will go ont to play the KillaBeez next round for the Grand Finals of Division 2 and a spot in Division 1 next season to prove their dominance over all!
1ST place Yo Mambas gets the W in a much needed and hard fought versus 4TH place BUCKETS in a game that started close but ended one sided. Oscar S Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 23 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Ali, Doug, Jake E & jake C in a great team effort, scored the same amount with 5 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Anthony G scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 12 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , A Mercer was heating up as he bagged 10 points on the sheet . The game was expected to be physical and meant to be close and hectic, and it was all of those things as the mid range was lit up by Oscar and the Buckets pushed and pushed inside and got their points down low. It was a grind of a game and the eventual winner was the Yo Mambas crew who just crept ahead in the final minutes and kep the lead with some good clock management. Great season by Buckets, just short by a handful of buckets!
DIv 3 had 2 games which had the top 4 teams go at it, the 1v4 and 2v3 matchups always bring the noise and we had to very different games but playoff quality no doubt!
3rd place Fumblerz grinded out a win in back and forth match vs 2nd place Bohica in a grind of a game coming right down to the last few minutes to decide the winner. Danny B getting stats from everywhere including 12 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Jacob H was heating up as he bagged 9 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Muz O slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 17 points but a loss unfortunately , John J was unconscious and had no remorse for the defense piling in 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. Bohica came in hot with some great games leading up to this thanks to their fast break game, this was was a little different as the deep numbered Fumblerz used their pieces well and kept fresh legs on the court. Bohica got gassed but pushed through it,Muz hitting some 3s to keep the game in reach, but the Fumblerz passed well and found the extra open man to get a better look at the hoop. This paid off as they outlasted the Bohica crew and secured their spot in the Grand Finals next round . Bohica a great season but just short of the goal this game as they look to next season to rest and rebuild….Fumblerz go on to play The Kents in the Grand finals!

Kents came out hungry and pushing their brand of game, smother and trap the D from full court and force turnovers, and convert some fast break points that got them the lead early, it was a proven method as the Ballers were on the back foot straight way and took to the break and the 3 point line to try make up for lost opportunities, this game wasn’t in their favor though as Kents outhustled them despite some nice drives and bank shots by Ivan and Russ. Ballers sit out the rest of the playoffs after this loss, Kents take their stellar season all the way to the finals to see if they can get it done and move up to Div2 to take on the talent of Wednesdays UBL!
