Division 1 started off some some familiar teams and some others which have some franchise players in them, will they step up and challenge the established teams in Div 1?
Streetfighters grinded out a win in back and forth match vs MIB and went back to the locker room with a solid Win. Lach CR put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 22 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Tim R 13 & Ethan getting stats from everywhere including 12 points worth of buckets in the win. whilst on the other team, Seth let it fly and hit more than missed with 16 points on the sheet , Dan B 12 & Jetin was heating up as he bagged 12 points but that wasnt enough to get his team over the line this time. Streetfighters stepped up and took the court in the grand finals rematch, it was a grind of a match with some high quality ball being performed but in the end the inside scoring of Tim and Lachy coupled with Ethans slashing to the cup got the Streetfighters over the line against MIB who had Jet start off hot till the D stepped up. Seth was big on the break but not enough to get revenge this time.
Hogz kept their structure and managed a W, after being behind most of the game against D1 Agents and hustled harder getting the W. Elliot J let it fly and hit more than missed with 15 points to shut the defense down. . Nate 14, Azza P 14 & Dan W Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 13 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. Despite a good effort by the other team as Luke A got the game high in points outscoring everyone with 16 points recorded by the bench , Grady H Snapping the wrist to perfection finding the bottom of the net for 12 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . D1 Agents had its sight set on Hogz who were taken aback at the start as D1 Agents went on a big run getting a 10 point lead, till the Hogz snapped into gear and the outside shots were falling from Nate and Azza and the mid range was all Dan W. Luke A had a big first game back and Grady looks like a monster driving and rising up to drive. These guys could contend!
Division 2 looks good and its stacked with evenly matched teams that will test each other all season, this round had an OT match showing its anyones game!
Killa Beez got a good first ever win on the forever hustling Ring stings and was able to get the much needed win. Mick O couldnt miss much as he led his team with 15 point game to contribute to his teams effort. . Wayne J weaved through the zone D with some nice footwork finishing on 11 points worth of buckets in the win. Which for this game outshines the effort of, Robbie N slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 9 points worth of buckets in the loss.. , Barry S just too much experience shooting the 3 with 6 points on the sheet . Killa Beez knew who they faced, a rebranded ThreeBallers of old who have leveled up since then and looked to take down the mighty Killa Beez. But it wasn’t to be a dream run first game and they struggled to get stops at times with Mick O and Jayden filling up the lanes with Wayne J keeping the D shifting with is drives. Ring stings went down this game but knows what to do next time, if they execute correctly!
BUCKETS had better offense than the defense of their opponent, Ballers and went back to the locker room with a solid Win. Anthony G with an epic performance and great score of 19 points in the big dominating victory. . Jon C finished the game with a commendable 15 points to get over the line. but on the other side Ivan C getting stats from everywhere including 15 points as he was operating in automatic mode , Froi kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 9 points in the matchup that couldve gone either way. . BUCKETS taking on the rising Ballers from Div 3 who get a taste of the next level before taking what they’ve learnt back to D3 where they look to dominate. BUCKETS had the size this time around and hammered the boards hard getting a lead early and never looking back. Jesse and Ivan were doing well with Froi pushing the same style of offense, but it wasn’t enough, losing the boards, lost the match.
Bohica went back and forth but held the lead most of the game against Goat's n Bros and was victorious this round, thanks to some players putting in work. John J pushed the break and went home with a tidy 12 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Muz 11 & Conor finished the game with a commendable 11 points on the sheet even though from the other team, Cam B slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 12 points but a loss unfortunately , Kyle D was heating up as he bagged 9 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Bohica welcome Goat's n Bros to the division they have held resident in with a loss. Goat's n Bros did well to put their physicality on the game but Bohica weren’t backing down. The fast break by John was crucial as were the big shots by Connor, helping Muz lead the team to the W this game .
Fumblerz needed an overtime thriller against the Sugar Dunkertons in and overtime thriller that kept the crowd waiting for the next bucket to close the game Will slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 12 points to get over the line. . Neale P 10 & Danny B played well as far as getting 9 points worth of buckets in the win. the only resistance coming from, Oscar S put in some big numbers and got the game high in points notching an impressive 24 points helping out with the teams offensive load. , Jarryd T kept his average up there for the season with a nice 14 points but a loss unfortunately . Fumblerz rising from Div 3 to take on a strong team with some big names, Sugar Dunkertons look different but not any less deadly as they held the lead going into the end of regular time. But the Fumblerz had more to say. And Mitch J hit a huge three after Danny B was on fire from midrange to catch up ad draw the game. In OT they traded buckets, and a heartbreaking made basket was waved off at the buzzer by Dan B as they siren sounded with just .40 of a second between the buzzer and release! The shootout ensued and the Sugar Dunkertons weren’t able to hit their shots and gave up the game in the shootout, they could have closed the game many times with free throws but just didn’t have it 2nite! Basketball gods at work!
Division 3 is a huge Div and its stacked with teams keen to get their season started the right way, with a win and a show of dominance to put the league on notice.
PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE had better offense than the defense of their opponent, Family Guys in this round which would result in a great match. Sam B the recipient of some nice extra passes for open shots getting him 17 points to ensure they get the win this round. . Jack C had a pretty good game scoring wise with 14 points in this game. Whilst on the other team, Tim M heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 21 points but a loss unfortunately , Peter T 8 & Dan M ended up with an efficient 8 points as he pitched in to add to the score. . PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE have been here before, the first game of the season, and they knew a hot start would be important, and the new team, Family Guys were throwing everything at them. Tim M has been on fire lately and this game was no different, the game high but not enough to stop the Due of Sam B and Jack C who were on fire and aggressive on the offensive end. Pete and Dan hit some shots to catch up but PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE ran away with it and take their first W!
Vibes Traded buckets most game, but kept a nice buffer all game to close it out vs KS Buckets and set the tone from the start, big mentions to the performers in this game. Monson getting stats from everywhere including 12 big ones to conlclude the mission . Andrew B started scoring later in the game but ended up on 9 points on the sheet which simply outscored the other teams leaders being, Matt D scored well but it wasnt enough as he notched 13 points recorded by the bench , Freddie F pitched in to add to the score with, 11 points helping out with the teams offensive load. . Vibes were playing hard, and they were faced with a KS Buckets crew that were putting gin work of their own, getting a lead at times that made the Vibes crew step it up a gear. KS Buckets had Matt D and Freddie do their best to stop the bleeding, but Vibes finished the game off strong with some fast breaks and take the W, their first in UBL!
Jasons Buckets wins a resounding victory over the unlucky Shanghai Sharks in a game that had the winners go on scoring runs that werent answered in time. Doug K slotted in some 3s with some tidy finishes also to get 9 points to ensure they get the win this round. Jason K 9 & Dave M had a pretty good game scoring wise with 9 points to get over the line. simply out working the other scorers being, Maxi M couldnt miss much as he led his team with 8 points in this game. , Ryan A ended up with an efficient 7 points in the loss . Jasons Buckets were able to slide away with the win this time knowing that the game could have gone either way! Doug was determined to not let them sniff victory at all as he strolled in late and got buckets dropped the mic and bounced. Sharks were doing well mid game but weren’t able to get the right stops to control the pace. Jasons Buckets take the W!
Globo Gym had its sights set on Airballers and was able to get the much needed win. Blake led all scorers on a solid 12 points, a much needed performance as they won the scoring matchup against the other teams leading man. . Jade H focussed on the W, summoned his hustle to put in work for 9 points in the big dominating victory. combining for a a good total to out do the eventual defeated, whos scorers were; Anthony K played well as far as getting 11 points but a loss unfortunately , Kye S kept his eye on the hoop and ended up with 5 points worth of buckets in the loss.. . Globo Gym moving over from Thursday night and look to put their winning brand to the test in this talented Div. Airballers were going to put a big resistance up and try to bury them with threes, but they were just short on soe crucial attempts. This game Globo Gym the chance to take the lead, and they kept it marginally till the end getting their first W this season. Blake was driving through the key with ease and put in some nice numbers, almost matched by Anthony K but needed more troops to step up and overcome the mightily Globo Gym this game.
50 Shades of Klay wins a resounding victory over the unlucky Bricklayers in a game that started close but ended one sided. Joah FG channelled Kobe and wanted the win this time, getting 22 points worth of buckets in the win. . Jordan & Matt 17, James L had the licence to shoot and put them up to end on 16 point performance. simply taking over and stifling most of their scorers expect for, Jake E heat checked after hitting afew shots and kept going, owning this game with a great 22 points recorded by the bench , Jamie W ended up with an efficient 9 points but a loss unfortunately . 50 Shades of Klay were not ready for this game, they didn’t expect that the Bricklayers were going to put up a fight, but they did, and were hitting threes and floaters all game, just a little less than 50 Shades of Klay whos talent is deep and propelled them to an easy W and an ascension into Div2 due to the pure dominance this team can display! This was just a preview, how high can they get!
