1st quarter tipped off with both teams not scoring on the first couple of plays, feeling each others offense out to see where re-adjustments need to be made. Streetfighters started with some inside passes to get their bigs warmed up, Scotty W leading the way so far with 6 and Ethan was already active insdie and out with 5. Hogz saw Johnny M start things off with 5 points and Nate was getting warm with 3 points as both teams started the grind. Streetfighters were up by 4 at the end of this quarter with the FG% 45 to the Hogz 29% who were loading up on 3s this game.
2nd quarter the scoring picked up from both teams, the shot selection pretty close to the 1st quarter with a few more players stepping up on each side. Hogz werent going to let the Streetfighters get too far ahead and kept up the pace, pushing the break and spreading the floor to get their shooters good looks as the paint was clogged with defensive bigs. Ethan was scorching with 13 so far, Scotty was efficient with 10 and Tim was starting to get his feet in the paint with 8. Hogz were shooting well and keeping up their attack, Aaron P with 9 so far folowed by Nate P with 8, Johnny was serving up some dimes and had scored 7 so far, keeping the game to a 4 point different, Hogz still down but ready to step it up in the 3rd. The turnovers from Steetfighters were mounting up but they were compesated by the rebounds which they had 9 more than Hogz, who were taking care of the ball only losing it 2 times to the 12 from Streetfighters.
3rd quarter commenced and the next 24 minutes was to test both teams, this quarter was taken over by the Hogz new tactic, getting Elliot J involved in the high post, who was looking for the bucket and finding it with alot of D in this face, he was able to put in 12 points in the quarter allowing Hogz to win the quarter by 3 points cutting the lead to 1 by the end of the 3rd. Streetfighters were struggling to adjust to the new offensive sets, but were able to survive the quarter through some big hustle towards the end. The 4th quarter would be anyones game, the HOgz momentum snatched back a little by Streetfighters as they entered the final 12.
4th quarter started with Streetfighters posession and they got right to it, going on a mini run to get some traction, to which the Hogz answered back with some Nate P 3s as he hit 3 long bombs from the corner to keep the Streetfighters worried until the final 2 mins of the game when the Hogz seemed to run out of answers for the size as 11 points was scored by Big Tim W who turned it on and turned it up in the last 12 mins to put the Hogz away for good. EJ was ready to close this one out big time as he dropped 10 of his almost 30 points in his quarter to ice the game and notch the 3 peat for Streetfighters!
Great season to both teams, and a great rivalry through the years has brought us another epic and classy Grand Finals game in UBLs toughest division!
Top Performers this game from Hogz were Elliot J with 18 points 9 rebounds on 57% shooting, Nate P on 17 points 6 rebs and 4 steals, Aaron P was too fast for the D with 15 points 5 rebs and 4 assists! Point God Johnny M with a near double double with 7 points 8 asists! Streetfighters had some big statlines with Ethan J with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals on 63% shooting, Tim W with a monster double double, 25 points and 13 regounds on 85% shooting, and Scotty W with 12 points on 56% shooting! Co MVPs of this match go to Ethan J and Tim W, dominating this finals game!
